Caitlin Moss
Caitlin Moss is a drummer, percussionist, and music educator born and raised in Los Angeles. In 2009, she completed a Master of Music degree in Afro-Latin music, and she studied Afro-Cuban bata drums with master Cuban drummer and singer Lazaro Galarraga for over ten years. Her drum set teachers include world-class drum set players Chris Coleman and Phillip “Fish” Fisher.
Caitlin currently performs and records with The Altons, El Domingo, Nick Pagan, and various other artists and bands. She has had the opportunity to work in the studio with producer Gabe Roth, co-founder of Daptone Records; Wayne Gordon, producer and engineer at Daptone subsidiary Wick Records; and Tommy Brenneck, guitarist for Budos Band and founder of Dunham Records.
Some of her most notable experiences include national and international tours with Grammy-winning bands La Santa Cecilia and Quetzal. She has also had the opportunity to play with artists such as Lazaro Galarraga, Angel Luis Figueroa, Ceci Bastida, Chuck D, Maya Jupiter, Marisa Ronstadt, Aloe Blacc, Joey Dosik, and Dexter Story. A song she recorded drums on, The Altons "When You Go," was recently sampled on the first track on Mary J Blige's new album.
Monica Juarez
Monica Juarez is an artist and arts educator from the San Fernando Valley. She is a graduate of UCLA’s School of Art and Architecture with a degree in Art, Film, Media, and Television Studies. She makes sculptures, ceramics, and animations and has exhibited her artwork and screened her films at Art Division, Echo Park Film Center, and El Cine. She has also facilitated art workshops and classes for different organizations including the Pacoima Arts Incubator, Changeist, and Tia Chuchas. At the Canoga Park Youth Art Center, she teaches classes in 2D and 3D art including ceramics, sculpture, and drawing that focus on building imagination and confidence in creativity while also learning about subjects from art history to ecology.
Georgia Albert
From the age of nine years old, Georgia attended the art center learning drawing, painting, and photography skills. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in International Relations at San Francisco State, she was able to go back to school as an Art major. She now works as an Assistant Photographer and paints regularly in her downtime. At the art center, she is fulfilling her dreams of helping kids develop their own passions for art in the same way she discovered
Donna Zanella
Laura Peisner is a classically trained artist and professional educator. After graduating with a BA in art from California State University, Northridge she studied at The California Art Institute under the direction of Fred Fixler & Glenn Vilppu. Laura is currently studying figurative sculpture under the direction of world-famous sculptor, Phillipe Faraut.
For over 25 years Laura developed and taught inclusive art education programs in both public and private schools.
When not painting and sculpting in her home studio, Laura can be found here, at the Canoga Park Youth Art Center, where she has been inspiring children for close to 20 years. Her passion for creating & love for children come together in all of her classrooms. Laura is also a published author & illustrator and mother of two fabulous daughters.
Donna Zanella has been drawing since I she a young child and still paints and exhibits her work. She received an AAS in design and a BFA and MFA from Cal Arts. Donna has taught children art since 1984 and has been with the Canoga Park Youth Arts Center since it opened in 2000. Her Classes encourage each student's unique vision and creativity and provide a safe place to explore. Donna now focusses on teaching world art to the local elementary schools through field trips and zoom classes. Additionally, Donna has written, illustrated, and self-published 3 children's books and is active in cat rescue.
